What is Rocket City RV Rentals?
It is a rental operator with its own units, run by Dathan Black out of the shop at 4529 Winchester Rd, New Market, AL 35761. That is northeast Madison County, so the keys change hands in New Market, not on a Huntsville lot.
The business is backed by Fireside RV, and its own website says the reviews it shows were left for Fireside RV. If you are comparing the two, our Fireside RV Rental page covers the parent brand.
It delivers in Madison, Morgan, Limestone, Marshall and Jackson counties. Its FAQ says the fee depends on distance from the New Market shop. No delivery price is published, so ask for a quote before you book. Phone: (833) 478-2262.
Worth a look if you
- Live in or are visiting the Huntsville area and want a trailer set up at a campground
- Need room for a big group: several units list 10 or 11 sleeping spots
- Want a month-long stay, where the posted discount is 20%
- Prefer one company's written rules over a different owner's rules per listing
Look elsewhere if you
- Want a Class C motorhome: the booking system listed none
- Want to drive a motorhome and pick from several: it listed one Class A
- Need flexible cancellation inside 30 days
- Plan to travel unpaved roads, which the policy prohibits
The fleet and posted rates
These figures were read from Rocket City's booking system at rentals.rocketcityrvrentals.com on October 25, 2026. They are posted starting rates per night. Tax, delivery, the damage deposit and any fees are on top.

Read before you compare
- Every unit carries the same note: 7 nights or more takes 10% off, and 30 nights or more takes 20% off.
- Rocket City's RV type pages show lower "from" prices and list a Class C motorhome. The booking system held no Class C and no rate under $159 on October 25, 2026. Price your dates in the booking system, because that is where you pay.
- Seven units are fifth-wheels, which tow from a hitch mounted in a pickup bed. If your truck has no fifth-wheel hitch, ask for a delivery quote before you pick one.
- Most units run 36 to 45 ft. Check the site length at your campground before you book the rig.
- The policy is silent on the deposit amount, minimum driver age, mileage and insurance terms. Ask Rocket City and get the answer in writing.
The 30-day line, priced out
Rocket City's written rental policy, served with every unit in its booking system and read October 25, 2026, sets two rules on the same date. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the rental starts. Cancellations made up to 30 days out get a 50% refund. Inside 30 days there is no refund, and the policy names weather interruptions, early check-outs and no-shows.
Take its lowest posted rate, $159 a night for a 38 ft Keystone Outback that sleeps 8. A 7-night trip is 7 × $159 = $1,113. With the posted 10% weekly discount that comes to about $1,002 in nightly charges, before tax, fees, delivery and the deposit.
Cancel 31 days out and the policy returns half, so about $501 of that is gone. Cancel on day 29 and the whole $1,002 is gone, and so is anything else you paid. The policy does not say whether the 50% applies to the trip total or to what you have paid so far. Ask before you put money down.
So treat the date 30 days before pickup as your real booking date. Set a reminder for the day before it. Settle the dates and the headcount by then, and ask Rocket City whether it sells trip protection, because the policy text says nothing about it. Once you are inside the line, a rained-out week costs the same as a sunny one.
Other charges in the written policy
- Start time defaults to 4:00 p.m. and return to 10:00 a.m. Late returns cost $100 an hour.
- Generator use includes 2 hours per night booked, then $5.50 an hour. Running it 8 hours a night on a 3-night weekend is 18 extra hours, or $99.
- Fuel below the departure level is refilled at $6.25 a gallon.
- Gray and black tanks must come back empty unless you prepaid a dump service.
- An unclean return is billed at $1 a minute. Smoking inside carries a fine of up to $750.
- Awning damage comes 100% out of the deposit. Tires and windshields are the renter's responsibility.
- Travel to Mexico and on unpaved or dirt roads is prohibited.
- Deposits come back 5 to 10 business days after return when there is no damage, and can be held up to 60 days when there is.
What this profile could not confirm
- A review count or star rating. We found no dated, sourced figure, so this page states none. Check the Google Maps listing for Rocket City RV Rentals yourself.
- The founding year, roadside assistance hours and what household items come with a rental. The written policy is silent on all three.
- Delivery fees by town. Rocket City quotes these by distance from the New Market shop.
