LongTerm RV Review 2026
The only one of the three that asks about the campsite before it quotes you
What Is LongTerm RV?
Bottom line: LongTerm RV books monthly RVs for people who have already worked out that the answer is an RV. It describes itself as being for "monthly RVs when you already know the product is an RV," and it handles delivery, setup, and placement through partner operators rather than running a browse-and-click marketplace.
It serves insurance and ALE claims, home rebuilds, snowbirds, workforce and crew housing, and travel nurses. It carries travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class C motorhomes. It publishes no rates, which is the main reason it does not rate higher. What it does publish, and what nobody else in this category does, is an intake that asks whether the rig is going on your own lot or into a park, and an option to bundle the park pad with the RV.
✅ Good for:
- Anyone who does not yet know where the RV will physically sit
- Renters who want the pad and the rig on one quote
- Snowbirds and travel nurses on multi-month stays
- Rebuild and ALE stays where delivery and setup matter
- Crews and workforce placements needing coordination
⚠️ Not the best fit for:
- Shoppers who want a published rate before they call
- Anyone who wants to choose a specific listing and rig
- Claims needing a written direct-carrier-billing commitment
- Short trips, this is a month-plus product
The Intake Question That Is Worth Up To $1,500 a Month
We compared the intake forms of all three services in this category. Only one of them asks where the RV is going to sit.
What LongTerm RV asks: dates, ZIP code, lot versus park, pets, and claim fields if you are on an ALE claim. It runs a dedicated park pad plus RV page and will arrange the site alongside the rig. Checked on longtermrv.rentals, September 13, 2026.
What it does not do: absorb the pad fee. Its pricing page states plainly that "pad fees are separate when you need a site." So the pad is inside the conversation and inside the arrangement, but it is still its own line of money. That is the honest reading, and being asked beats being surprised.
What the others ask: TempHomeFinder's form takes name, email, phone, ZIP and your situation category. Shelter On-Site's adjuster page describes placing the unit "in the driveway" with "owner on-site," and states nothing about pad costs on the pages we checked.
Why that one field matters: a private RV resort pad runs roughly $400 to $1,500 a month, per the rate research behind our long-term RV rental guide. On a four-month stay that is $1,600 to $6,000 that either is or is not inside the number you were quoted.
The consequence: if your county will not permit an occupied RV on your own lot, LongTerm RV is the service whose quote already accounts for that. Ask the other two the pad question explicitly, because their intake will not raise it for you.
Cost of not asking: up to $6,000 on a four-month stay, discovered after you have already accepted a monthly rate you believed was all-in.
Two Quotes, One Fulfillment Partner
This is the thing worth knowing before you "get three quotes" in this category, and it comes straight from the two companies' own published pages.
Source one: LongTerm RV names Escape RMC and Fireside RV Rental as the partner operators it places bookings through.
Source two: Shelter On-Site's own Organization schema gives its legal name as Fireside RV Rental, founded by Garr Russell, CEO of Fireside RV Rental.
The collision: a quote from LongTerm RV and a quote from Shelter On-Site can be fulfilled by the same operating company. They are two front doors that share a back room.
So do this: treat these as one quote, not two, and bring a genuinely independent third to the table. A peer-to-peer marketplace listing priced by the month is the usual comparison, and our Outdoorsy and RVshare reviews cover how their 28-night discounts work.
Cost of not knowing: you believe you have market-tested a price when you have asked the same fleet twice, and you negotiate against yourself.
Partner names as published on longtermrv.rentals and legal name from the Organization schema on shelteronsite.com/about, both checked September 13, 2026. We are disclosing this about our own network because you should be able to see the structure before you shop it.
No Published Rates. Here Is What to Measure the Quote Against.
LongTerm RV publishes no pricing, so we will not invent any. These are our own medians, and they are the numbers to hold a quote up against.
| Rig class | Monthly rate, rig only | Months an $80,000 ALE cap funds | Offered by LongTerm RV? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Travel trailer | $1,900 – $2,600 | 31 – 42 | Yes |
| Fifth wheel | Varies by length, ask for it by the month | — | Yes |
| Class C motorhome | $3,400 – $4,800 | 17 – 24 | Yes |
| Class A motorhome | $4,500 – $6,300 | 13 – 18 | Not listed |
| Park pad, if needed | $400 – $1,500 | — | Bundling offered |
Read this table before you call
Rig rates are ours, from the July 2026 pull of 3,398 live listings behind our long-term RV rental guide, with the 28-night discount applied. The $80,000 column assumes a $400,000 dwelling limit at the 20% low end of the ALE range published by the Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner.
The consequence: on the same cap, a travel trailer funds roughly 14 more months than a Class C. Since LongTerm RV carries both, ask for both quotes in the same call and decide against your ALE time limit rather than against square footage.
What we cannot tell you: LongTerm RV's actual rates, because they are not published. No response-time commitment is published either. Neither gap gets filled with a guess here.

LongTerm RV Pros & Cons
✅ Advantages
- Asks the lot-versus-park question at intake, which none of the others do
- Arranges the pad alongside the rig, though pad fees stay a separate line
- Delivery and setup included, not a lot pickup
- Carries trailers and fifth wheels, the classes that stretch an ALE cap furthest
- Built for month-plus stays, not a vacation product with a discount bolted on
⚠️ Limitations
- No published rates. Its pricing page says it will "publish honest ranges only when they are sourced," which is defensible but leaves you quoting blind
- A broker, not the operator. Fulfillment sits with partners
- Partner overlap with Shelter On-Site, so two quotes may be one fleet
- No published response time or direct carrier billing commitment
- No Class A listed, if you need the largest class
Frequently Asked Questions
What does LongTerm RV cost?
No rates are published, checked September 13, 2026. For a benchmark, our data puts a month of a travel trailer near $1,900 to $2,600, a Class C near $3,400 to $4,800, and a Class A near $4,500 to $6,300, campsite separate. Hold any quote up against those.
Does the quote include the campsite?
It arranges it, but does not absorb it. The intake asks lot versus park and there is a dedicated park pad plus RV page, which makes it the only one of the three that raises the pad before you commit. Its pricing page states that "pad fees are separate when you need a site." A private resort pad runs roughly $400 to $1,500 a month.
Who actually delivers the RV?
Partner operators. The site names Escape RMC and Fireside RV Rental. Worth knowing: Shelter On-Site's legal name is Fireside RV Rental, so a LongTerm RV quote and a Shelter On-Site quote can come from the same fleet.
What rigs are available?
Travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class C motorhomes. On an $80,000 ALE cap a trailer funds roughly 31 to 42 months against 17 to 24 for a Class C, so ask for both quotes.
Will they bill my insurance carrier directly?
Not stated on the pages we checked. If direct carrier billing matters to your claim, Shelter On-Site publishes that commitment explicitly. Ask LongTerm RV before you book.
Who owns LongTerm RV?
PopNet Media, which also operates BestRV and TempHomeFinder. TempHomeFinder routes monthly RV requests here, which is why this page carries an in-network disclosure.
What to Ask on the Quote Call
- Get the trailer quote and the Class C quote together. On an $80,000 cap that choice is worth roughly 14 months of covered housing.
- Say up front whether your county will permit the rig on your lot. Call county planning first. Our TempHomeFinder review has the permit vocabulary.
- Ask whether the quoted number includes the pad and, if not, what the bundled number is.
- Ask who the fulfilling operator is. If it is Fireside, you have already met them at Shelter On-Site.
- Ask about direct carrier billing if you are on an ALE claim, because it is not published here.
- Compare against one genuinely independent monthly quote from a marketplace listing.
Our Verdict
LongTerm RV earns its place on one detail: it is the only service of the three whose quote process accounts for where the RV will physically sit. That sounds minor until you price it. A park pad is $400 to $1,500 a month, which on a four-month stay is up to $6,000 sitting outside a monthly rate you assumed was complete. LongTerm RV asks. The other two leave you to find out.
We rate it 4.0 rather than higher because it publishes no rates and no response-time commitment, and because it is a broker placing through partners rather than the operator running the fleet. Use it when you do not yet know whether the rig is going on your lot or into a park. If you already know it is your driveway and you have an open claim, Shelter On-Site publishes a rate and bills your carrier. If you are still working out what your policy owes you, start at TempHomeFinder.
